1. Limited Warranty – Standard Product Table

1.1 Extended Coating Warranty – Availability by Request

Warranties are not available for all products and applications. The duration and terms and conditions of available warranties vary according to product use and application.

The warranty only applies to defects which have arisen solely from faulty materials or workmanship, this does not apply to other defects which may have arisen as a result of, without limitation, the following:

  • Faulty Installation
  • Lack of Care and Maintenance
  • Usage within 5km of Corrosive Geographical Zones, including but limited to Coastal Lines. 
  • Negligence and Damage
  • Natural Fading
  • Crazing
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure compliance with specific project requirements, wind ratings and that the structural integrity of the building and substrate structure is suitable for connection of McKinna Products. The site engineer is responsible for reviewing and confirming all installation instructions, fixings and drawings. An engineering certificate is not included as standard and does not form part of the McKinna Product warranty. 

2. Notwithstanding clause 19 of McKinna Group’s Terms and Conditions of Trade, McKinna Group provides a limited warranty for standard products supplied by McKinna Group (‘McKinna Products’) that is referenced and expires as per the “1.0 Standard Product Warranty Table” from the date of the invoice relating to the McKinna Products purchased by the Customer. 

3. Notwithstanding clause 20 of McKinna Group’s Terms and Conditions of Trade, McKinna Group warrants that McKinna Products are free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of installation. Within this warranty period, McKinna Group will, at no charge to the Customer, repair or replace McKinna Products which McKinna Group has determined to be defective in materials or workmanship.

4. This warranty will be void if the McKinna Products have not been installed in accordance with:

(a) the installation instructions in effect at the time of installation or 

(b) the Building Code of Australia; or 

(c) technical or industry specifications; or 

(d) any other applicable legislation or standards; or 

(e) any other requirements specified by a qualified engineer. 

5. This warranty covers McKinna Products fitted in original condition and does not extend to McKinna Products that have been changed or modified after their original supply by McKinna “Custom Products” or have been installed with products which are not McKinna Products.

6. This warranty does not cover McKinna Products that have been:  

(a) subject to abuse, misuse, neglect, negligence, accident or any other external factor outside the control of McKinna Group; or 

(b) improperly maintained, operated or installed.   

7. For the avoidance of doubt, this warranty does not extend to:

(a) fasteners and caulking if supplied by McKinna Group; and 

(b) without limiting clause 7(a) above, fasteners affixed to or contained in McKinna Products. 

8. This warranty does not extend to fading, crazing, discolouration or other cosmetic issues with McKinna Products.

8.1 This warranty does not extend to any paint, wet spray or laminate applied to McKinna Products. 

9. Notwithstanding clause 9 of McKinna Group’s Terms and Conditions of Trade, Powder coated McKinna Products are subject to care and maintenance programs, including regular annual inspections by the customer with record keeping referred to as the “Routine Inspection & Maintenance Program”. Batches produced at different times will be slightly different. Every effort is made to ensure the closest colour match, but can not be guaranteed.

9.1 Electropolishing over stainless steel is a decorative finish and is not warranted for external usage.  

10. The Customer must notify McKinna Group of its warranty claim (‘Warranty Claim’) in writing to sales@mckinnagroup.com.au within 7 days after becoming aware of the Warranty Claim.

11. McKinna may inspect the McKinna Product subject to the Warranty Claim. If McKinna determines such an inspection is necessary, it will arrange (at its expense) for an employee or agent to carry out the inspection within 14 days after being notified of the Warranty Claim (the ‘Inspection’).

12. If an inspection is not required, McKinna Group may arrange to collect the McKinna Product subject to the Warranty Claim or request that the Customer returns the McKinna Product subject to the Warranty Claim to McKinna Group (the ‘Returned Product’).

13. McKinna Group will not pay the costs of labour for the removal or installation of McKinna Products the subject of a Warranty Claim or shall be liable for damages or loss as a result of such claim.  

14. Within 14 days of:

(a) carrying out the Inspection; or 

(b) McKinna Group collecting the McKinna Product in accordance with clause 12; or 

(c) McKinna Group receiving the Returned Product in accordance with clause 12, 

McKinna Group will determine and notify the customer in writing as to: 

(d) whether the McKinna Product is defective; and 

(e) whether the McKinna Product is covered by this warranty; and 

(f) what action, if any, it will take with respect to the relevant McKinna Products. 

15. A capitalised term used in this warranty and not defined has the same meaning as set out in the Terms and Conditions.
